Christa & Robert custom letterpress wedding invitation

This was an incredibly fun wedding invitation to work on and our first pocketfold invitation…ever! Pocketfolds seemed to be all the rage a few years ago but oddly enough this is the first time a client approached us for a custom invitation to be contained in a pocketfold. Christa and Robert decided that a modified version of our Scrolling Vine invitation would suit their Niagara-on-the-Lake wedding just fine, printed in gold and black inks. We also designed and printed a reply card, event timeline, map and gift enclosure card.

The whole package was finally wrapped together in a custom printed letterpress band.

Printed on Crane Lettra Ecru, 300 gsm.

Anne & Joshua Chinoiserie invitation

It’s funny when you design an invitation you have a certain vision of how it’s “supposed” to look, and then a client comes around and customizes the invitation in a way that is completely unexpected. That is what happened with our Chinoiserie invitation, which we always imagined being our asian-inspired invitation. Then Anne came around and customized it with a blind deboss border and classic script, turning it into a very chic invitation that doesn’t look a bit asian.

Printed on Crane Lettra, 300 gsm, pearl white. Inks: blind deboss (transparent white) & gold.

Gated Wedding invitation – Kelsey & David

Our Gated invitation has proved to be one of the most popular wedding invitations from our collection. Its elegance remain timeless and can be customized to reflect a variety of themes. In this case, the bride Kelsey customized this invitation to reflect her Roaring Twenties-inspired wedding, adding an Art Deco font to the mix and printing in gold ink.

We even have a matching letterpress napkin for this one!

Jaime’s wedding invitation

Here is another example of when things just come together on the press and it just works. Jaime sent us this fantastic design for her destination wedding, complete with illustrated type,  and we took great pleasure in making it look even more fantastic by letterpress-printing it on Crane Lettra, 300 gsm in pearl white.

Paris wedding invitation – Rob & Sarah

Sometimes certain design elements come together and it just works. This was the case with the invitations of Rob and Sarah, who decided to customize our Paris invitation with fantastic colour and font choices. They also wanted to replace our little illustration of lilacs with the skeleton key they had used on their save-the-date. No problem. The result, for lack of a better turn of phrase, just works.

Printed letterpress invitation – Steven & Sandy

We are often asked if we can print bilingual or foreign language wedding invitations…the answer is a resounding YES!

Steven send along this very cute illustrated Chinese/English invitation for us to print, the first we’ve ever printed. This invitation was such a piece of cake to print, we could hardly believe how laid back Claudette the Press was about it all (she’s usually quite fussy).

Printed on Crane Lettra, 300 gsm, pearl white.

Wedding invitation – Ben & Melanie

We were so happy to have our third local couple this year, Ben and Melanie,  find us and hire us to do their wedding invitations. They chose our Filigree design, printed in lavender and blind deboss, with rounded corners.

Letterpress wedding invitation – Margaret & Jason

Not too long ago, we had the pleasure of working with wedding planner Tania of Dolce Weddings to help create invitations for her clients, Margaret and Jason, who were planning their destination wedding in Italy. Tania sent us a basic design for the invitation, and we helped her refine it and make it letterpress-ready.

Printed on Crane Lettra, 300 gsm, pearl white. Band printed on Canson Mi-Teintes.

Printed letterpress invitation – Jared & Michelle

We love when designers and illustrators send us really cool artwork to print! This design comes courtesy of Jared and Michelle. We were thrilled when we saw it because we rarely get the chance to print actual illustrations from clients (and as you know, illustration warms the cockles of our illustrator hearts).

Illustrators, we want to print your art!

Wedding Invitation – Steven & Nicole

This ambitious wedding invitation design came to us from our friends Steven and Nicole of Jump on the Fridge. We handled the printing, they handled the assembly. The alignment was very challenging, since we had to print 2 pieces on both sides and those sides had a continuous illustration so everything had to line up. Despite the challenges, it all turned out beautifully. The final version is one show-stopping wedding invitation!

And the wedding was a lot of fun too!

Printed 2 pieces – 3/1 inks (cerulean blue, warm red and metallic silver), on Crane Lettra double-thick 600 gsm, pearl white.
